Stencil Card ~ Color Dare #522

Yea for Friday! Are you ready for a new color challenge from our Design Team at Color Dare? Our Only Two Colors is a fun one and can be easy or not... depending on how you look at it. In the grid below you'll see Honey Butter is the main color you MUST use. From the 3 colors below you pick only ONE color to go with Honey Butter. Simple, right! We do offer some Free colors to use so be sure to check out the "fine print" on the graphic.

I chose Sapphire as my color to go with Honey Butter. Once I decided to use this image from our stencil pack the colors were an easy choice.

Using a card base from our White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack I got busy. Cardstock colors are White Daisy, Sapphire and Honey Butter. Of course to go with this the Exclusive Inks are Sapphire and Honey Butter plus Black for the sentiment.

Using our new Blending Brushes (I LOVE these brushes) I applies the ink to the stencil. I roughed up the edge of the cardstock with my scissors. On the water I added some Stickles Diamond for a shimmery water look. I also painted the sun with a Clear Shimmer Brush but that is hard to see in the photos.

At the last second I decided to mat the top layer with just pieces in the corners. I love the look this created. The top layer is popped up on Thin Foam Tape for some added dimension.

Now it's your turn to create and share. Make any paper craft you like. We reference Close To My Heart colors but you can use any brand you have as long as you can make a very close match. Kind of close doesn't count. When you're ready use the link in the post on our home page to join Challenge #522. We can't wait to see your creation!

  1. A great use of that stencil. I must get me some of those! Love the addition of the stickles to really elevate your card. Honey Butter certainly makes a good setting sun colour.
