Glow of Harvest ~ Aug. Product of the Month

Ready for more Glow of Harvest? I sure am!

As I've mentioned before, this is our August Product of the Month. With a qualifying order of $75 this gorgeous Paper Pack is yours for only $5! You get 12 sheets of 12" x 12" single side pattern paper. The colors are beautiful AND it has a pearlized finish that makes it extra pretty!

This card also features many in our New Hot Foil dies. The Lustrous Leaves and Reverse Hot Foil Dies and Copper Foil will be available Sept. 1st, so this is a sneak peek!

I trimmed off 1-1/4" off the card front base to show the inside of the card where I hot foiled the bricks from the Echoes of Detail set. 

I let the Lustrous Leaves DSP do the heavy lifting for me by hot foiling the leaves directly to the DSP. This created Fall colored leaves in one easy step! Well, 2 easy steps when you count die cutting out the leaves. A few of the leaves are popped up with Dimensionals to give some depth to the design.

Once I laid out the leaves on the card front it looked a bit plain with just the leaves so I used the Swiss Dots Hot Foil die before adhering the leaves and it's perfect to fill in the blank space but not overpower.  By the way, I'm using tone on tone CS which means I layered Early Espresso CS on top of the same color. Look closely in the photo and you can see how it looks.

 Finally, a sentiment was added by using the Sweetly Sentimental Hot Foil die and the NEW (coming Sept. 1st) Reverse Hot Foil Die. This special die allows you to use the "scrap" foil left over. Here's what I did. I used the Sweetly Sentimental die and hot foiled. I got the letters in hot foil. Next I used that scrap piece to hot foil again. This time the letters are the CS color surround by the hot foil.  Not waste! Isn't that great!

Here's the inside of the cards. I had a leftover leaf so of course it went n the inside! The inside is just waiting for a custom message I'll add when I use the card.

Lily of the Valley Card ~ Color Dare #717

 Welcome to our new color challenge from our Team at Color Dare. Every Friday we give you a new palette of colors to inspire your creativity. Please follow the guidelines listed on the graphic seen below. Make sure your colors are a very close match to those in the graphic.

I love the dainty look of how my card turned out. I used a card from our Basic White Note Cards & Envelopes. They are a bit smaller in size (3-1/5" x 5") and are a fun size to work with when designing.

The Velvet Meadow DSP gave mr a sheet perfect for this color challenge. I layered it with Melon Mambo CS for a bold look. The small floral is a perfect size for the die cut frames. I colored it with Stampin' Blend markers. The green was brought out in the leaves and a few gems. The sentiment was stamped then punched out. I trimmed it down so the size fit the length of the sentiment. Oh....the flowers are popped up with Dimensionals for a bit of depth in the design

I also added some fun by embossing the flap of the envelope with the coordinating embossing folder. It adds such a nice touch and surprise when the receiver goes to open the envelope.

I LOVE our August Product of the Month! The soft look of the colors and patterns and the pearlized finish....WOW! 

for this card I kept it simple and let the paper speak for me. I used 3 of the 6 patterns on the front. A simple sentiment that was made with our Hot Foil System was a perfect way to send a wish to someone. Wrapping some twine behind the popped up sentiment makes it look like a bow. I finished with a few gems. Like I said....simple.

What's Up Wednesday ~ Single Leaf Punch Magic

Welcome to What's Up Wednesday!  What's up today is a fun way to use the Single Leaf Punch. I saw it online somewhere and put my own spin on it. If you recognize your card please reach out to me so I can give you credit for this funny idea!

So what can you do with a pile of pretty punched out leaves? How about this......

Stacking them on a card front like bricks makes a very creative look! This card took about 15 leaves to fill the card front. I started at the top lining the tip along the top edge of the base CS. After that it just working down the card front in a brick laying pattern. The partials along the outer edges were glued in place then trimmed of the excess. Save the excess to fill in on the other side!

Before gluing the base with the leaves to the card front, I wrapped a ribbon around it. Once on the card front I added the pieces from the ephemera pack after they were stamped. The sentiment layer is popped up. A few sparkly things and it was finished!

The inside is simple. A sentiment and a couple of stamped leaves is enough. Or if you have left over punches leaves you could use those on the inside, too. 

I hope you'll take a long look at your punches and see different ways to put them to use! Have fun!

Glow of Harvest Card

 Take a look at the beautiful that is our Product of the Month for August! It's called Glow of Harvest and has this amazing pearlized finish giving it a pretty sheen! Photo just don't do it justice!

This is a simple card with layer of the pretty paper and a little sentiment with a twine bow an a few gems. That's it!

Card base is 5-1/2" x 8-1/2" in Pecan Pie

CS layer is 5-1/4" x 4" in Cajun Craze

DSP layers are 1-1-4" x 3-3/4" (2 patterns)

DSP in the middle is 2-1/4" x 3-3/4"

Mat for the sentiment is 1/2" x 2-1/4"

The sentiment is from our Hot Foil Sweetly Sentimental Dies. I make up a lot of these sentiments and keep them in a container. It's nice to have them ready to go when I need one!

Here is a close-up of the patterns in this DSP pack. Aren't they gorgeous? There are tight patterns for any layering, but the looser patterns can be used as is or fussy cut for single images! Now that's versatility!

Simple Happy Birthday ~ Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 695

 Hello and welcome to a new sketch challenge from our team at Atlantic Hearts. Each Monday we give you a new sketch to inspire your creativity. You can adjust the sketch as you like by changing format, shapes, positions, etc. We just need to be able to see the sketch in your design.

I did change the sentiment shape in my design and added a ribbon. I also placed the gems in different places but you can still recognize the original sketch!

To make this quick and easy I let the DSP (Designer Series Paper) do the heavy lifting. I cut the middle panel on the floral side. All I now had to do was flip over the DSP and use the back for the 2 outside panels. 

I used a punch on white and Hydrangea Hue CS for the sentiment. Since it's the same size I cut the Hydrangea Hue in half and glued the outer edges to show on the ends. This punch will be available in September. any punch like this could be used this way.

A ribbon was woven behind the sentiment which is popped up on Dimensionals. One final touch was to add the gems. Like I said, quick and easy!

Rustic Floral Card ~ Color Dare #716

It's time for a new Color Dare Challenge! Our team is ready with ideas to share using the 2 colors in our graphic +  1 color of choice. The Free colors are listed in the graphic. You can use the Free colors with the challenge colors. Make sure your colors are a very close match to those shown.

I wanted to pair the Textured Tree Ring embossing folder with the Begonia Belle stamp (July Product of the Month). I felt it would be a nice rustic combination. I think it looks great together. What do you think?

Before embossing I stamped the dotted image onto the CS. Honestly, I'm not sure if I like that detail or not. How do you think it looks? Maybe it's a bit busy 3with the line in the embodying folder and the dotted lines. 

The flower is a two step stamp. This allows you to get really nice shading and detail in your flower. The leaves also are the same way giving you beautiful leaf details. 

Wink of Stella was added to the flower but never photo well. Trust me, it's there! A bit of twine and some gems added a nice touch to the finished look.

What's Up Wednesday ~ Scenic Coast Card

How are you today? Are you feeling crafty and creative? Feeling like you need a bit of inspiration? Maybe this idea will help you out.

I saw this idea on Pinterest and knew I had to give it a try! The colors are vibrant and pop off the page as it is. With this distressed technique it seems to give it an extra boost of color!

Cutting a slit across the center of the card base front gave me starting place for tearing the hole. I tore a hole large enough for a good size hole leaving a bit of a border on the bottom for a sentiment.

For the black CS I did the same method of cutting a slit then tearing. This hole needs to be a bit smaller so there will be black showing through the card front hole. 

After tearing both layers I rubbed my finger against the hole edges to slightly roll it back a bit more. It's a nice way to distress a bit more.

The Scenic Coast DSP was trimmed down from 6" x 6" to 5-7/8" x 4-1/8". Next glue the black CS to the inside of the card front. Now glue the Scenic Coast DSP to the black on the inside card front. The flip side of the DSP makes a nice finish for the inside of the card. I also used one of the ends trimmed off the DSP to decorate the white CS on the inside.

The sentiment is from the Greetings For All Ephemera pack. It comes with both white and black sentiments! A few gems on the front and I called it done!

Here is another card I did because I just couldn't stop at one! For this one I changed the color of the card base but everything else is the same idea.

I picked the card base color based on color seen in the DSP. The first card base is Hydrangea Hue. The second card base id Flirty Flamingo. The scenes are different but that just makes it more fun! I can't wait to make more of these cards!

Pretty Poinsettia ~ Color Dare # 715

Are you feeling crafty today? I have a great way to get started on a project. A color Dare Challenge gives you the color palette and you create any paper craft you like! We get you started and you take it from there!

This challenge gives you 3 colors to use and you must use all 3 colors shown in the graphic Make sure your colors are a very close match. Kind of close doesn't count. We also give you some Free colors to use with the challenge colors. See the graphic for that information.

I chose to go with a Christmas Card theme for this challenge. I love making Christmas cards in non-traditional colors! 

I first die cut the flower layers and leaves. Next I used our Impressions Plate and ran the die cuts through again creating more dimension. This was important for my next step: adding Gold Foil. 

When you Hot Foil be sure to save your scraps. This is what I used to add gold to the flower petals and leaves. 

With a bit of glue on my finger I lightly brushed the raised part of petals and leaves. Then I used my foil scraps on top of the glue. Pace the foil shiny side up and when you pull the foil off you get this lovely look!

Here's a close up with the foil on the petals and leaves. I didn't want a lot of foil so I was light with the glue. Of courses you can adjust this to whatever amount of foil you want on your project. This is a GREAT way to use those scraps!

I also embossed some white CS to place under the flower. This is matted with Gold Foil Paper to carry the gold theme throughout the design.

The sentiment is stamped on one of the labels outlined in gold. A few gold die cuts as accents and the card front was done.

The inside was kept simple but still has some fun details. I had one of the gold die cut accents so I added it here. A bit of stamping in the corner brings the colors inside, too.

Life in Bloom Card

Every so often I go through my stash to see which sets haven't been inked yet and put it to work! This is one of those sets: Life in Bloom Bundle. 

I chose a more neutral palette to surround the vase of flowers. This makes the soft colors of the flowers pop more. 

I started with die cutting the flowers and vase. The vase was colored by swiping the ink pad across the die cut until I liked the look. This technique really makes the texture stand out with vey little effort.

The flowers were colored with Shimmer Brushes of a sparkly look. It's hard to photo shimmer but you can kind of get the idea looking at the leaves. A Shimmer Brush gives all kinds of pretty looks to your projects. We have shimmer brushes in the 5 In Colors for 2026-2028 and in Clear. 

After the shimmer dried a few minutes I used Tear & Tape along the top of the vase to adhere the two layers securely together. 

The background is die cut from DSP (designer series paper) and the edges rubbed against an ink pad to give definition. Two more die cuts were added of a fun accent along the left. 

Next I used Mini Dimensionals to pop up the vase and flowers. I also used a marker to color a bit of shadow under the vase. This grounds the vase instead of it looking like it's floating in mid air. 

Finally, Rhinestone Basic Jewels were added to the flower centers and a pretty pink bow for the vase. Add any sentiment you like along the bottom.

Now I have a pretty vase of flowers to send someone for any occasion. I know it will make them smile.

What's Up Wednesday ~ Halloween Treat Cones

Welcome to What's Up Wednesday! My project to share today is how to make treat cones from a 6" x 6" piece of DSP (designer series paper). It's quick and easy and is so fun to give a treat this way. Of course you can use any DSP you like, but it's particularly fun for Halloween!

Our New Spooktacular DSP pack is perfect for this project. In the pack you get 48 sheets 6" x 6" DSP with 4 different patterns. Let's take a look at how to make this fun project!

Start by adding a strip of Tear & Tape to the side of a sheet. Roll the sheet to adhere and make a tube. I used my Bone Folder to smooth the seam down. 

HINT: An easy way to remove the protective backing on Tear & Tape or Dimensionals is to use the pointy end of the Take Your Pick Tool. 

Once you have your tube you need to decide which way you want the top and bottom to fold together. I decided the bottom would go together "sideways" or facing the side.

Place Tear Tape on the inside of the tube and pinch together. Using the Bone Folder I rubbed over the end to make sure it was sealed well. Don't want any of the treats falling out!

This is what the bottom should now look like. 

For the top you're going to pinch the sides together going the opposite way of the bottom. For my cone I'm pinching it flat to the front. Place a strip of the Tear Tape on the inside but 

DO NOT remove the protective paper until AFTER you put in your treats! Once the treats have been added tape it closed and you have a super fun Treat Cone!

Lovely Blossoms Card ~ Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 693

Hello and welcome to a new sketch from our Design Team t Atlantic Hearts. This week Team A is showing ideas using our sketch.

For this project I stayed pretty true to the sketch. I haven't made a square card in a while and thought....why not? So here you go, a square card!

My overall card base is 5-1/2" square. This gives a nice amount of the DSP to show itself off and allow room for a nice sized focal layer. 

Colors are Petal Pink and Secret Sea with white. the scallop layer is part of the Everyday Border Accents and unfortunately has already sold out! I hope you were able to get a pack while they were available. On this card I left it white but you can add color to make it go with any theme.

The focal layer is popped up with Dimensionals and a few gems make a nice accent.
