Color Dare #111 with a Birthday Twist

Welcome to the color dare for this week! Our colors are Sorbet, Cranberry, Lagoon, Olive and Pacifica. This is a top fold standard sized card (4 1/4" x 5 1/2").  In order to get the cake is different colors I did some paper piecing. I stamped it in Olive, Cranberry, and Sorbet. Then I cut out the parts I wanted in that color. To get the Lagoon flags on top I used a masking technique. I placed a Post-It note to protect where the cake would be. I inked up the flags in Lagoon and stamped them off the top of the Post-It note. Then I pieced the cake layers onto the CS.

Blast Off!

It's Blast Off time with a new Color Dare Challenge!

This time the colors are Crystal Blue, Pacifica and Barn Red. 

***For the 100th Color Dare we are giving a special prize!

I'm also using a sketch from Clean & Simple.

This is a top fold card 4 1/4" x 5 1/2". The stripe paper comes from the Ariana paper pack. It was a moment of inspiration that I used the stripes going both ways.

Happy Birthday --- Mojo Monday Style!

I had a bit of time for myself today and used it to play along with the

  Mojo Monday group!  Here is the sketch for this week:

And here is my version of the sketch!

This is a very easy sketch to accommodate just about any style! I love the one rounded corner on the card base and how its matched on the center layer. I was going to just round one corner of the cake layer, too. But I got to clipping corners and before I knew it I had rounded all four corners! I decided to just go with it. I used the Ivy Lane paper pack for a lovely feminine look.
