Joyful Stars Blog Hop

Hi how are you doing today! Feeling creative? I felt like doing some gardening. The problem is...I am SO not a gardener! Here is the type of garden I can handle, though!

Since this is a hop you just have to click the link in each post to continue to the next blog.  If you've come from Tracey Pierce's blog you're doing fine. Click the link at the end of  my post to continue on the hop.

I have loved seeing photos of the succulent gardens being made and decided to try my hand at it! The succulents are cut from our Cricut Flower Market cartridge. I've inked the edges for added dimension. I even used the Clear Shimmer brush on some of them. It's really not a hard thing to do and now I get to enjoy it for a long time. In fact, I had so much fun I ended up with 15 gardens! My sister-in-law came over and we started an assembly line. It was a lot of fun! They make great gifts! I'm taking these to a craft fair later this week.

The Juniper flowers are inked in Pansy. The Sweet Leaf flowers are inked in Blossom. The Sea Glass flowers are inked in Lagoon. Flowers were assembled with Liquid Glass for a real good "stick".

Color Dare #225 ~ Cashmere, Champagne, Pomegranate, Fern with Colonial White

Welcome to the first Color My Heart color challenge of 2017! Can you believe we're starting a brand new year already? Where does the time go? We have a great color dare for  you this week so let's get started! If you would like to share your creation we would LOVE to see it! You need to work with the color dare colors. If you don't have one of  the color you can substitute something close, but don't add any new ones. Details on how to share your artwork are in the sidebar of our home page.

These colors made me feel a winter elegance kind of feeling. So I warmed up my Cricut, tapped into the Close To My Heart Flower Market cartridge and got busy cutting! The flowers are in Colonial White and brushed with the Shimmer Brush. The pine cones are Champagne and Cashmere. There are Clear Sparkles sprinkled around the layout. Rather than leave them clear....which was very pretty.... I decided to use a marker to color them and it's very pretty! I also used the edge of a block to create the lines.

All products are Close To My Heart:
--Cricut Flower Market
--Cardstock: Colonial White, Cashmere, Champagne, Pomegranate, Fern

Cricut Flower Market Blog Hop

The Stamp of the Month Consultants are sharing their creative ideas using the Close To My Heart Flower Market Cricut cartridge. This cartridge is SO versatile and has so much more than just flowers. So let's get into it!

If you're coming from the blog of Sheila Bennett you're doing fine. It's one big circle and you can hop on and off at any point. There is also a link at the end of this post to a list of all the participating consultants.

I decided to go with a technique called the Split Negative. It's really quite easy and looks impressive when done. To get things started I cut snowflakes from page 21 of the Flower Market booklet. You have to cut a full snowflake of each paper so you end up being able to make two cards! Once the snowflakes were cut I lined them up on my Paper Trimmer to cut them in half. Then you make layers alternating the colors so they are opposite. HINT: it is easier to glue with Liquid Glass when layering to get other papers to stick to the glitter paper. I added a few sparkles and stamped the sentiments both inside and out.

If you don't have the Flower Market cartridge yet it would be a fantastic idea for a Christmas or Holiday gift! It would also make the paper crafter on your gift list very, very happy!

GUESS WHAT? We have a special offer for that! CYBER MONDAY starts at 1:00am CST and when you spend $30 on retail-priced product, you can buy one of our Cricut collections at 30% off!!!
