Color Dare #84: Sky, Sweet Leaf & Topiary

Welcome to this week's Color Dare: Sky, Sweet Leaf & Topiary!

I wanted to combine these colors with some dry embossing and reached back in time to do some toilet paper embossing! This technique creates a really fun homemade paper look. So take a look at the 7" x 5" side fold card I made and I'll do over the details of how I made the embossing layer.

First I took lengths 2 sheets long and layered 8 of them on top of each other. Then wet them down so its almost all wet. This is a quick pass under the faucet. Fold it in half and squeeze out the water as best you can. Next, lay it on a towel and squeeze some more. Now you're ready to emboss! Place the wet paper in the embossing folder….I used Damask. Run it through the Cuttlebug as usual but have the towel ready to mop up the water it squeezes out. Now you can take the embossed paper out of the folder and set it aside to dry. You can also use your heat tool to dry it but be careful not to scorch it.

Here is a close up of the embossed toilet paper! Isn't it pretty!

When you want to affix this layer on your project you have to be careful. If you put the adhesive on the toilet paper layer it will just pull and not stick. So put the adhesive where you want the toilet paper layer to be. You could even use touches of Liquid Glass for adhesive.

The papers used are from two kits: Balloon Ride and Skylark. The rose is from the Pick a Posey set. The message is from Joyful Birthday.  Topiary Mini Chevron Ribbon and Green Bubbles finish the look!

Welcome to the second round of our New Product Hop! We were so excited to share new products we decided to do two hops! 

Here is a card I made and I LOVE how it turned out. It makes me think of my sweet Aunt Joan. Her favorite color was navy blue. As soon as I saw this stamp set the design formed in my head. 

There are actually three layers of White Daisy cs and all are popped up with foam squares. It creates a nice tone on tone look. Outdoor Denim is used for everything else. Its a very simple card with an elegant feel to it. There is room for a small message on the front or plenty of room on the inside.
