March/April New Product Blog Hop

It's time for another New Product Blog Hop because the March/April Catalog is now live! There are so many beautiful new products in this catalog! I couldn't just pick one so I'm sharing a trio of cards for our hop!

The hop is one big circle so just click the link in each post to hop to the next blog. How's that for easy! For reference the blog before mine belongs to ScrappinKaty. Click here for a list of all participating Makers.

As I said, I made a trio of card for this hop. I kept to a color theme of sorts and used four different stamp sets. I love them all but I have to admit the first one is my favorite!

View the catalog online

As I said, this is my favorite of the bunch. I saw this technique on a FB page and couldn't wait to try it out! I stamped and colored the flower and leaves using Intense Black Ink and TriBlend Markers (Blue Turquoise Blend, Alpine Green Blend and Blender). Then I fussy cut the image. I laid the image on white cardstock and but the butterfly shape with a Thin Cut die (seen below). When placing on the card I popped up the butterfly shape with Thin Foam Tape and slid it into place with the rest of the flower. Using our White Cards and Envelopes Value Pack means I always have cards on hand!

Clear Shimmer Brush was  used on the flower petals.

For my slimline card I went with an ombre look for the butterflies. I stamped in Exclusive Inks (Glacier, Lagoon and Harbour) then matted them using the same colors of cardstock. The background paper is from our Mix-in (Mar-Apr) pack. It's a good idea to have our Slimline Cards and Envelopes pack on hand, too. Loose Gold Sequins finishes the look.

Here is a pretty card in a black, White and Gold theme. The background paper is from our Love Story-Black. A simple image stamped in black and framed with Gold Glitter paper and a few Gold Sequins adds a nice touch. The stamp I used was actually larger than what you see here. I simply snipped the stamp into two pieces. HINT: When I want to use the full image I'll just put them together on the block and stamp away!

New Product Blog Hop ~ Jan/Feb

January brings a new mini catalog full of lots and lots of fun new things to craft with! This catalog is live January and February of 2022. Enjoy all the new things you'll see used on the projects in this hop!

The blog before mine is Scrappin Katy. All you have to do is click the links in each post to hop to the next blog. It's one big circle. Click here for a list of all participants.

My card was a quick and easy make using this theme. I used the sticker sheet from Sweet as Honey for the images. The lines were "stamped" using the edge of a My Acrylix Block. I tapped the edge of the block on the ink pad then stamped it onto the cardstock. I also added some hexagon cork shapes to accent the hexagon stickers.

New Product Blog Hop ~ Nov/Dec Catalog

Welcome to our New Product Blog Hop for our November/ December catalog! Every two months we launch a new mini catalog full of wonderful seasonal items. You're going to love this hop!

When you click the link in each post you'll hop to the next blog on the hop. It's that easy! The blog before mine belongs to Wendy Kessler. Don't you just love her ideas! Click here for a list of all participants. Relax, sit back and get ready to be Wow'd!

I've been seeing this Split Circle design all over lately and decided it was time to give it a try myself. I can now say I am addicted to this design!!! It's easy and fun plus you can do so many different things with it!

You start with circles cut with dies or on a Cricut. My circles are 2 1/2", 2", and 1 1/2". You need 1 full circle of each size for the cards below.

Cut the circles in half. Now you layer the half circles on each other lining up the edge on the right for one set and the left for the other set of half circles.

With your layered half circles all set you now have a choice to make. The top card has the half circles offset creating a swirl. The bottom card has the half circles lined up to mail a circle but the layers are offset.

Layer a sentiment strip over the seam and add an accent at the right end. I also used some clear sparkles for fun.

July/August New Product Blog Hop

Welcome to our New Product Blog Hop! When one of our Close To My Heart mini catalogs launches our group of Makers gets busy creating with the new products so we can show you all the fun that is at your fingertips!

The blog before mine is Haley Dyer's. To navigate the hop all you have to do is click the link in each post to hop to the next blog. How easy is that! You're going to love all the creativity you find along the way.

My granddaughter and her family recently went on a vacation to their favorite place.... the mountains! I decided those photos would be perfect for our new Wander paper suite. I don't have the photos just yet but can't wait to add them to this layout.

I used a pattern from one of our How-to Books called Make It from Your Heart, Volume 5, Pattern 14. Our How-to books make it Sooooooooooo easy to create layouts or cards! There are completed samples along with a cutting and placement guide. Use it as it is or change it up with your own ideas!

The paper pack I have includes the Sticker Sheet and I used those images for my layout. This made it super fast and easy to create this layout!

I added some sparkles to the pages and I covered the mountain top with some Stickles to give it a little sparkle and a snowy look!

My card is an inspiration from Brandi Bergh. She made her card in blue and it was so pretty I could wait to make it in this Sangria color!

This is an easy card to make. The layers are built up on the front of the card base. Pattern paper from our Special called You are Enough. Next is cardstock then the white layer. Other than the white cardstock the Sangria color is what you see. Sometimes it looks really nice to go monochromatic and let the details in the image shine!

The butterfly was cut using our new Butterfly Thin Cuts. I used the Coordinating cardstock to the You are Enough paper for the base and Sangria cardstock for the top layer. The sentiment comes from the gorgeous May Stamp of the Month called Flowers for You. I think I've used some part of this stamp set on every project I've made this month! You really NEED Flowers for You!!! It's only available until May 31st so don't wait....get it now!

After adding the sentiment a couple of sequins finished the look! Remember to add embellisments in groups of odd numbers. Your eyes look at that as a balance.  Hint: If you do an even number your eyes keep searching for more. So if you feel your eyes roaming over your project count your embellishments to see if you have that odd number!

January/February New Product Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to our blog hop introducing new products from our January/February Close To My Heart catalog!  Its so much fun having new products every two months!

This hop is one big circle so just click the links in each post to continue along on the hop. The hop before mine belongs to Krista Hershberger. Sit back, relax and have fun!

I fell in love with this stamp set mostly because of the birdhouse. I couldn't decide which direction I wanted to go in with my design so I did them both! I'm sure there will be other ideas to follow later one!

I knew I wanted to do a stenciled background and picked out this stencil, which you can hardly see in the photo. I used our gloss sprays to create the effect of a sky and ground. Then I used the same stencil to add some Moon Dust Glitter Gel to just the sky part of the background.

The birdhouse and flower boughs were colored with watercolor pencils then smoothed out with a water brush. The coordinating Thin Cut Dies makes it easy to cut out the images!

The black paper is actually Black Ore and has a subtle glisten to it. It's not like glitter paper but it does have a sheen to it.

For my second card I went with the same basic design but did it in a totally different look!

I layered the stenciled piece onto holographic paper with a yellow tone to go with the yellow flowers. The bottom layer is espresso cardstock in going with the brown tones of the birdhouse. the sentiment border is accented with dots of Glitter Glue.

The birdhouse was colored with watercolor pencils then smoothed with a watercolor brush just like my card above.

The background was stenciled again but this time only a Glitter Gel was used called Asteroid. It's a look with dark and light glitter but also has some subtle color and round sequin circles in silver.
