Message in a Bottle Card ~ April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our April Stamp of the Month Blog Hop! The first of each month our group of talented Close To My Heart Makers host a hop featuring the Stamp of the Month. April has a fantastic stamp set for you and you're going to love all the wonderful ideas in this hop!

For reference, the blog before mine is Haley Dyer, the Inky Scrapper. Just click the links in each post to hop to the next blog!

Message in a Bottle is a super fun set you're going to have lots of fun using. I went with a "washed up on the beach" theme for my card.

I sponged inks (Toffee, Carolina) to white cardstock to make a beach look. I made a mask by tearing some scrap paper with a rough outline to make the edge between sand and water.

For the bottle I stamped Intense Black ink on Vellum. After it was dry I sponged Lagoon ink on the back of the Vellum to give the bottle a tint. Next up was fussy cutting the bottle. The message was stamped in black ink on white cardstock.

To assemble the pieces of the card,  I cut a slit in the "beach" to tuck the bottle of the bottle as if it were stuck in the sand. Next I glued the scroll to the beach just above the slit. I placed the Vellum bottle on a piece of our adhesive sheets making it into a sticker, then placed it on top of the scroll. With the adhesive all on the back of the Vellum you don't have to worry about it showing. I stamped the cork to the top of the bottle.  Finally, I mounted the beach layer onto black cardstock to create a framed look.

For the finishing accents I used Stickles to the water for some waves. The little beads were added to create a look like finding chunks of sand of shells on the beach. The beads were glued with Liquid Tombow Glue.

For the inside message I used the little sign. With a journal pen I lengthened the rope to the top of the card edge.

I decided to give this stamp set a bit of an out of the box twist and use it to make a Valentine's Day card! I used a pattern from our Make It from the Heart How-to book, Volume 5, Pattern 21. That makes it so easy as you have samples, cutting guide and placement info right at your fingertips! I did add a bit of glitter with the small strip because well....... glitter! LOL I also love the little black heart I added to the lower glitter strip. Sometimes the creativity just happens!

September Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to our September Stamp of the Month Blog Hop. If you're new to our hop here's how it works. The first of each month we have a group of talented Close To My Heart Makers feature artwork made using the Stamp of the Month. Click the link in each post to hop along the way as it's one big circle.  The blog before mine is Brenda Lapp.

This month we have a great stamp set called Grateful for This Life. This stamp set will fit all your wishes in ways to thank people or show your gratitude. I'm showing you a slimline card for this hop and hope you like it as much as I do!

I started with some of our NEW papers and colors. The card base comes from our pack of Slimline Cards and Envelopes. I covered the card front with a piece of Harbour cardstock then added paper from the cozy looking Pumpkin Spice paper pack.

I stamped the sentiment in two inks for an eye-catching look. I first inked in the lighter color then inked just the bottom of the stamp in the darker ink then stamped on the cardstock. I love how it looks! I added some Gold Thread, Gold Sequins and Gold Shimmer Trim to give it all some sparkle.

National Scrapbooking Month Blog Hop

Welcome to an exciting hop celebrating National Scrapbooking Month! We're the same group of Makers that bring you the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop so you know you're going to find lots of fantastic ideas on this hop, too! The blog before mine belongs to Alyson Mayo. Here is a complete list of the participants.

I decided to make a slimline card for the hop and also put to use the new Leaf Layers Thin Cuts. Pushing the box a bit I challenged myself to use the Leaf Layers as my focal image in a different way. What do you think?

By overlapping 3 of the leaves I saw a tulip! I used the beautiful You Are Enough coordinating cardstock as my base for the petals and leaves with a solid cardstock as the top layer. I LOVE how it turned out! Rose Gold Sequins and the new You Are Enough Sequins were fun additions! The butterflies are iridescent and are actually the same color of a pinkish/blue. The photo doesn't do them justice.

You Warm My Heart ~ November Stamp of the Month Blog Hop

Welcome to a new month and a new Stamp of the Month! The hop is one big circle you can hop on and off at any point. The blog before mine belongs to Katy Taylor. Click the links in each blog to go to the next blog in the hop.  Click here for a list of all participating Makers. Keep in mind this Stamp of the Month is only available from November 1 - 30, 2020. After that it's gone, gone, gone!

Our stamp set for November is called You Warm My Heart. It has SO MANY cute images and great sentiments, too. The pretty cup really caught my eye so that's what I decided to create with today. Now I have a cup of cocoa on my mind.

The pattern for my card came from our How-To Book called Make It from Your Heart, Vol. 4, Pat. 9. Starting with a pattern makes creating so easy! All that design thinking is done for you and with the cutting guide all you have to do it get busy cutting!

I used paper from our new pack called Jingly Joy. That's the plaid you see in the middle of the card. The flower borders you see at the top and bottom were made by stamping the flower on Scarlet cardstock. I love how that flower stamp mimics the flowers on the cup.

When I stamped the cup I did a little stamp rolling. First I inked in Scarlet then rolled the edges in Black ink. The touch of darker ink around the edges helps give some dimension to the cup. After stamping I fussy cut it out and used some foam tape when placing it on the hexagon.

The black you see is all glitter paper which gives some nice sparkle to the design. I used a Black Shimmer Brush to spatter the  plaid paper then added some Stickles dots to bring it all together.

Only available during November!

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Hop for May! Each month we feature a special stamp set only available during that month. You can even get it for only $5 with a qualifying order! Details are on my website under the Promotions tab.

This hop is one big circle. The blog before mine  belongs to Janet J Royer. Click here for a list of all the participants. The link for the next blog on the hop is at the end of this post.

Time to Celebrate is our Stamp of the Month and I love it! I love the script of the sentiments and the lines extending out from some of them. There is SO much this stamp set covers for occasions! Mother's Day, Father's Day, weddings, celebrations of any kind and even thank you's. This is a stamp set your really, really need!

Since it's close to graduation season I decided to make a graduation card. I kept the design simple and to the point. I love how I was able to use 3 of the sentiments on the front of the card. A fourth sentiment is on the inside. I blinged it up a bit with some red shimmer trim and some black shimmer brush for the tassels. A Bitty sparkles for the hat and it was done!

Don't forget Time to Celebrate is only available from May 1-31, 2020. Get yours now so you don't miss out on this great stamp set.

November Stamp of the Month ~ Seasonal Trees

I LOVE tree stamps! I was so excited to see this stamp set I couldn't wait to put it to use! For the hop I decided to do a simple Christmas card and here is the result. I stamped the trees and then got busy with my palette knife and texture paste to add "snow". Once the paste was dry I used the Clear Shimmer Brush to add some sparkle to the snow. The ornaments were colored with Red Shimmer Brush.

This great stamp set is only available from Nov. 1 - 30th!
Click here to get yours now.

I almost always do the Stamp of the Month Blog Hop but forgot to sign up this time. Duh! This is the post I would have shared in the hop. Click here to see what the hoppers have to share this month!
