Fun Bunny Bottom Card

Who doesn't love a cute bunny bottom? This fun card was inspired by a layout made by
Ginni Candelaria . Our Thin Cuts make this super easy to create AND the great news is that our Thin Cuts are on sale this month! See more about the sale at the end of this post.

To make the bunny bottom I used several Thin Cuts. The largest circle for the body, smallest for the tail, medium oval for the feet, smallest heart for the foot pads and a regular hole punch for the little foot pads. Just layer them all together and you can make a bunny bottom as he hops away!

For the background I stamped the grass image from the Easter Animals set. I then used a piece of cardstock for a cloud stencil by cutting some curves along the edge. A sponge was used to swipe ink using the curved edge for the clouds. Move the stencil around and angle it different ways to give a randomness to the clouds. The sentiment was curved a bit on the block before stamping and a pink marker was used to tint the clear sparkles. The lighter side of the bunny cardstock was used for the small foot pads.

A closer look at the tinted sparkles.

Pacifica, Outdoor Denim and Ruby Color Dare!

Welcome to another Color My Heart color challenges! This week the challenge is to use Pacifica, Outdoor Denim and Ruby.
I love this color combination!

I needed to make some more thank you cards and this is what I came up with. Its a very simple and clean style which really makes the colors pop!

First I used the Cricut to cut a circle in a piece of scrap cardstock. I saved the circle for another project and used the circle cut out as a stencil. TIP: when you place a couple of dots of glue from our glue pen on your paper/cardstock and let it air dry, you then have a post-it note! It will hold in place and then peel up when you're finished!

So I used my stencil, Ruby ink and a sponge to create the circle. I kept the center a bit lighter and faded darker around the edges. Next I stamped the flowers from Happy Autumn in Outdoor Denim ink. I masked the bottom of the circle so when I stamped I could keep the flower stems right down to the edge of the circle. The "thanks" message is also from the Happy Autumn set but I didn't want the other words. Since our stamps are acrylix I just trimmed them off and was ready to go! to keep the circle element going I used the corner rounder on just the top corners of the white cardstock. It's hard to see in the photo, but I added a small white pearl to the base of each flower. I used the Pacifica marker to color the pearl to match the theme. Its very subtle and looks wonderful in person!

Supplies used:
White Daisy and Pacifica cardstock
Ruby and Outdoor Denim inks
Cricut Art Philosophy
Bitty Opaque Pearls
Sponge
Corner Rounder

Heart 2 Heart Challenge

Welcome to the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for this first week of Novemeber! I'm honored to be a sponsor this week and hope you all have a great time playing along! Be sure to click the H2H link in the upper left corner of my blog for the home page with details and directions....and to see the prize that could be yours!

I hope you've been clicking on the link in the upper left corner of my blog and checking out all the fantastic ideas each week!

The challenge for this week is a color challenge. Create something using the colors: Brown Bag, Sunset and Indian Corn Blue! I wouldn't have thought to use these colors together but had A LOT of fun doing it for this challenge. That's the great part about a challenge...stepping outside of your creative zone and trying something new or different! Take a look at some of my efforts....

I LOVE how this card turned out! The stamp set is D1298 Beautiful Things. I hadn't used this set in a while and it just reminded me how pretty it can be! Here's a list of the supplies I used:
--D1298 Beautiful Things
--D1306 Treasure Life (message)
--Cardstock: Colonial White, Brown Bag, Indian Corn Blue, Sunset
--Inks: Brown Bag, Sunset, Indian Corn Blue
--Antique Copper brads
--round sponge
--Spellbinder dies & Cuttlebug-oval layered on torn rectangle
The pine bough and cattail images were cut out and glued to the top to give just a bit of dimension. A cattail was stamped in the lower right on the inside of the card as an added touch.

I find myself reaching for this stamp set over and over again! A subtle tone on tone stamping at the bottom of the card helped add some interest and not compete with the main image.
Supplies:
--D1436 The Present
--Cardstock: Colonial White, Brown Bag, Sunset
--Inks: Brown Bag, Sunset, Indian Corn Blue
--Colonial White ribbon
--Mocha Pearls
--round sponge
--Spellbinder die & Cuttlebug

This was a quick and simple card. I love the clean lines of the design.
--D1306 Treasure Life
--Cardstock: Colonial White, Brown Bag, Sunset, Indian Corn Blue
--Inks: Brown Bag, Sunset, Indian Corn Blue

So there are some ideas to get your creative juices going! Get out your Brown Bag, Sunset and Indian Corn Blue inks/cardstock and join the fun! Be sure to link your post to the H2H Challenge and join the fun!

Blogtoberfest--Sponging

Welcome to Blogtoberfest!
Stop by often for a month-long feast of tips and ideas!
Click on the Blogtoberfest link in the upper left for
even more ideas!

Create a really cool background by simply sponging! For this Halloween card I used the colors Creme Brulee, Sunset and Pansy Purple. First, I sponged the Pansy Purple across the bottom. Then I decided where I wanted my setting sun because that would be the brightest area. With this stamp image I thought it would fit best under the 3 bats! I sponged a little bit of Creme Brulee in this area and expanded it across the "horizon". Next it was time to add the Sunset color above and add a touch of Pansy Purple around the edge to complete the look. With sponging you get different depths of color which works well in this case because it gives a cloud effect without much effort at all! The final step was to stamp the image in Black. You could do it the other way too.... stamp the image first and sponge on top of it. Whatever works for you!

One more little tip.... I tied a knot in the ribbon and added two bitty sparkles for eyes to create a bat! I had A LOT of fun making this card!
