Emboss It! Blog Hop

Welcome to a different kind of hop from the Stamp of the Month group! We are so excited about the new embossing folders we felt a hop was in order!

I'm also entering this card in the
H2H Pantone Spring 2014 Color Challenge!
Click here to check it out!

If you've hopped over from Maria Myers blog you're on the right track. Just keep clicking the links at the end of the post to continue. There is also a list of all the hoppers at the end of my post.

On of my favorite techniques with an embossing folder is to ink it up and emboss! You have two options….a positive or negative image and on this card I've used both! I used the Quatrefoil embossing folder and wanted to create a sky effect. On the left layer I inked the side that would show on the background of the design. Just put your CS on the clean side and close the folder. Emboss as usual.  After cleaning and drying the embossing folder I inked the opposite side and repeated with a new piece of CS. To me, the left layer looks a bit like a blue sky and the right layer reminded me of puffy clouds! It made a nice soft background for the hot air balloon.

I colored the balloon with markers and touched it up a bit with the Alcohol Blending Pen to create lighter tones on the flowers. A few sparkles and ribbon and it was done!

Take a look at the embossing folders you can use to create all kinds of artwork!
