It's Friiiiiiiiii-daaaaaay! So let's spend some time in the craft room with a new Color My Heart Color Dare Challenge!
The colors in this challenge are so cheerful! We reference Close To My Heart colors but you can use any brand you have as long as you can make a very close match. Kind of close doesn't count. Don't add any extra colors to the palette so be careful if you are sharing your project with more than one challenge.
Make any paper craft you like. When you're ready to join the Challenge all you have to do is use the link in the post on our home page. We can't wait to see what you make!
I was in the mood to make something easy and simple so I started with embossing a background with the Botanical Embossing Folder on Wisteria cardstock. I used some sandpaper to distress the high parts of the design. The butterflies are from the Sawyer Cardmaking Workshop Kit stamped onto Wildberry and Capri cardstock. This kit contains so much including this exclusive stamp set AND coordinating Thin Cut Dies!
After stamping the butterflies in black ink on the cardstock colors I decided they just weren't as exciting as I hoped they would look. So I stamped them again on some scraps and fussy cut some wings to add dimension. The part of the wing next to the body is glued down and the other end has a piece of Thin 3D Foam Tape to pop it up a bit. The wings I popped up also are painted with a Clear Shimmer Brush. From there I made the little sentiment layer and added a few Bitty Sparkles as a finishing touch.
