Message in a Bottle is a super fun set you're going to have lots of fun using. I went with a "washed up on the beach" theme for my card.

I sponged inks (Toffee, Carolina) to white cardstock to make a beach look. I made a mask by tearing some scrap paper with a rough outline to make the edge between sand and water.

For the bottle I stamped Intense Black ink on Vellum. After it was dry I sponged Lagoon ink on the back of the Vellum to give the bottle a tint. Next up was fussy cutting the bottle. The message was stamped in black ink on white cardstock.

To assemble the pieces of the card,  I cut a slit in the "beach" to tuck the bottle of the bottle as if it were stuck in the sand. Next I glued the scroll to the beach just above the slit. I placed the Vellum bottle on a piece of our adhesive sheets making it into a sticker, then placed it on top of the scroll. With the adhesive all on the back of the Vellum you don't have to worry about it showing. I stamped the cork to the top of the bottle.  Finally, I mounted the beach layer onto black cardstock to create a framed look.

For the finishing accents I used Stickles to the water for some waves. The little beads were added to create a look like finding chunks of sand of shells on the beach. The beads were glued with Liquid Tombow Glue.

For the inside message I used the little sign. With a journal pen I lengthened the rope to the top of the card edge.

  4. How clever to use the beads as bits of glass or shells on the beach. That and your stickles in the water make quite a realistic scene. Love it!
