Happy New Year! We're off to a new year of crafting fun so let's start with the Stamp of the Month: Frosty Days. This adorable stamp set is only available during the month of January. This simple card kind of came together as I made it. I decided I wanted to stamp the polar bear on pattern paper and went with the Mix-in pack for Jan-Mar (link is below). After a bit of fussy cutting and a touch of marker colors, I had this cute bear ready for a card. Nest up was a card base from our White Cards & Envelopes Value Pack. This is such a good item to have on hand!
I wanted to create a different look with the layers because I kind of get stuck in a rut sometimes. I came up with the idea of angling the layers. Cardstock and Exclusive Ink colors are Melon and Glacier. Black in was also used. When ready to stamp the sentiment it seems natural to put it along the angle of the layers. A few stamped snowflakes and Bitty Sparkles and it was done!
Sentiments are from these stamp sets: Life's a Hoot and Flourished Greetings.
You can see a bit of a shadow under the bear. This was created with a Blending Brush and Glacier Ink. It grounds the bear so he doesn't look likes he's floating in air. It's a very easy touch and important for the design.
