Use Your Stash Blog Hop ~ Red, White & Blue

How is YOUR stash looking? Want to use some of it up? I love the monthly Use Your Stash Blog Hop as it encourages me to use what I have....and isn't that the point after all?!!

If you came from Sheila Bennett's blog you're on the right path. Just click the link at the bottom of the page to continue on the hop.

So the theme this month is a patriotic Red, White & Blue!
I dug into my stash and found some fun red, white and blue items to create with!

First, the card base comes from our Value Pack. You can get 50 cards with envelopes in White Daisy or Colonial White for only $14.95! Now that's a deal! The next layer comes from the Paper Fundamentals - Adventure pack. The fun thing about this paper pack is that you get the same pattern on both side with one side having a glossy pattern.

"Build" a Father's Day card for Dad!

With Father's Day around the corner I thought I'd get you thinking about a special card for your Dad. So with this idea in mind I combined it with the color dare for this week.

The Color My Heart color dare colors for this week are: Honey, New England Ivy, Olive and Outdoor Denim. If you don't have those exact colors just chose something close. Neutral colors are always ok to use as well.

I really like a card on page 87 in the current Idea Book. The pattern is from our Originals How-to book and is called Message In a Pocket. Some of the details were altered from the Originals pattern, but that's what it's all about....starting with a design and making changes or adjustments that suit you!

If I Had a Hammer.......

Remember that song? I suppose I'm dating myself right now by mentioning it, but I always liked that song. As I type I have Pete Seeger singing in my head. Peter, Paul & Mary had a great version of this song, too. Check it out if you're not familiar!

Ok, let's move on to this card I've posted. I really love this stamp set. Take a look at all these cool tool images!

The cardstock I used is fabulous! It's our new Paper Fundamentals. There are 20 double sided 12"x12" sheets (2 each of 10 designs). The same design is on both sides, one with a glossy resist pattern. The colors are from the Basics palette. Mostly this card is just a matter of layering. It's very quick and easy but makes creates some real eye appeal! Oh...I also just poked a row of holes along each side of the hammer....
kind of like nail holes.

All products are Close To My Heart:
--You're the Best stamp set
--Paper Fundamentals Paper Pack
--Cardstock-Colonial White, Black, Desert Sand
--Ink-Black
--Piercing Tool with Stitch Guide and Foam Mat
--Neutral Metallic Twine

Color Dare #82 -- Topiary & Goldrush

Welcome to the next Color Dare! I love the color green and Topiary is one that goes with so many other colors. This week we're pairing it up with Goldrush! As usual, neutral colors are also allowed in the Color Dare and I used Cocoa!

This  standard sized, top fold card is based on a Mandy Leahy creation. As soon as I saw her card I knew I had to use it for this Color Dare! Thanks for the inspiration Mandy!

I chose the Cocoa sheet of the new Fundamental Basics Paper. This paper is wonderful! There is a solid side with a glossy tone on tone pattern. On the flip side is the same color but with a white pattern. Can't you just imagine all the uses for this versatile paper!!! For the banners I used some Bronze Glitter Trim and Honey Washi Tape on Colonial White CS. The flower is stamped in the 3 colors and popped with foam tape. A piece of Topiary Mini Chevron Ribbon and Green Bubbles complete the look!

Now it's time for you to create and join us at Color My Heart! Check us out! You'll have so much fun you'll want to join us each week!
